The traffic to IKEA at Mutiara Damansara was heavy as SK drove us all in the Toyota Avanza there at 7.30pm last night. At the basemant carpark, the overhead display said 12 vacant spots. Mommy quickly asked Victoria to pray for a vacant spot for Daddy. Victoria is pretty good at praying now, as she has been asked to pray in such situations before, and usually God would answer her. Tonight was no different but I heard a very confident appeal. For sure I believe God heard because within a minute a vacant spot was given to us, right at the entrance to IKEA. Know what did Victoria responded when we said God really answer your prayer? She said ‘God said, “You’re welcomed“!’ It was touching to hear that from a 3+ year kid. We’re proud.
Victoria loved to visit IKEA for one good reason. The Daim Cake! We had dinner at the cafetaria which was as usual filled so we had to stand next to soon-to-be-vacated tables to take over one. Sort of telling the diners on them ‘please leave soon. can’t you see we have babies with us?’
We had a nice dinner. What was real nice about IKEA is that they are ooooh so customer thoughtful. The lifts are very family friendly. The food trolley is another example. It has 3 tiers on which you can place 3 food trays. As you walked along the food aisle, the posters of the various foods, their descriptions and prices stare at you so you cannot order the wrong stuff. I ordered a poached salmon, chicken leg, west coast salad and a piece of daim cake for ourselves. Plus an empty glass that we can have unlimited soft drink refills for RM1.50 only. Mei ordered the same plus a dish of Swedish meatball and chicken chop for herself. Victoria dilly dallied through her cocktail sausage and meatball dinner and had to be coaxed to finish them before she can ‘attack’ her daim cake. Here’s a pix of her enjoying her reward.
At the end of our IKEA shopping (I bought a children table that I can also use to work my notebook) Victoria enjoyed her dessert, a vanilla ice cream. Miaow, miaow.
Ling was too young to consume adult food although she appreciate it so just had to content with milk during the outing. Here’s a pix of her at home. Look how matured she look!
As we left IKEA Victoria entertained us with several Malay, English and even a Chinese songs she learned from playschool, mommy and the maid. I believe her repertoire is over 10 songs. Before we arrived home, she was sound asleep. At least she was not grumpy at IKEA (well, just a little bit). Signs of her growing up.
