Uncle Tony suggested that we should have a central blog for all of us to share latest news of the Yew families. I build this to help bring us all together. How many of you know what each other is doing now? If not for the Internet, Flickr, Picasa, Shutterfly, YouTube, WordPress, Blogger, etc we may never know how your children are growing, what are their names, etc. Some of you are as far as in the United States, some in UK, in Australia, in Singapore as well as in various parts of Malaysia. It is sad that careers has taken us far apart and that it takes a New Year to justify a reunion. Sadder still, a funeral to force us to come back home and share our families and lives. Let us not wait for this to take place.
Let us make an effort to keep each other informed through a blog like this. So far I’ve had only my own children, their spouses, Tony and Ai Leen in my Blogsend list. I wish to create a Googlegroup to involve more of the Yew families. If you know their emails please share this message with them and let me have their emails so I can add them to my mailing list.
I can invite up to 100 authors. Do consider joining. In your first blog please give an introduction about yourself and background as many of us may have lost touch of you. Submit a picture or two, that would be wonderful and link to your own blog or website if you have. If you wish, your address and phone contact but that I leave to you as you may want privacy. Over time I wish to see this blog grow to become the meeting place for all of us. It is also for you to post pictures so we can share with the other uncles and aunties who don’t have Internet connections os does not have a clue about broadband or what a keyboard is.
I am 60 years old and I don’t wish to be ignorant of my nieces, nephews, their spouses and children. Many of you I saw when you were kids but your education and career have taken you far away. Use the Internet to close the physical gap. And let the relationship stay alive through this blog. For a start, let me post a current picture of myself and auntie Wai Har.
